MacKenzie Scott took first place in Forbes’ list last year. She is the former wife of Amazon’s founder Jeff Bezos, a novelist and philanthrope, the third-wealthiest woman in the USA and one of Time’s Most Influential People of 2020.
Kamala Harris – the Vice President of the U.S. She is the first female vice president and the highest-ranking female official in U.S. history as well as the first African American woman and Asian American vice president.
Christine Lagarde, the head of the European Central Bank enters the top 3 of Forbes’ list. She is a French politician and lawyer, previously she was the managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
She is the first female CEO of a major global automaker- General Motors. Mary Barra is the highest-paid leader at any of the ‘big three’ automakers in the US. She was featured on the cover of Time as one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2014.
Melinda French Gates
Melinda French Gates rounds out Forbes top 5 being a businesswoman and philanthrope. She is the general manager of Microsoft, former wife of Bill Gates and co-founder of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
This Forbes list isn’t the only place where powerful women can be found. Female leaders who are improving women’s rights and innovating in their respective industries may be found all around the world. Furthermore, gender does not determine your leadership capacity.
